The Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act took effect on January 1, 2026, for businesses processing personal data of 100,000 or more Indiana consumers, or 25,000 with revenue from selling data. Smaller businesses are below the threshold but remain subject to Indiana's breach notification law, which requires notice to affected residents and to the Attorney General. Transportation companies additionally carry federal DOT record-keeping obligations. We set up the retention, backup and access controls so those records are there when an auditor asks.
