Office IT relocation
A move is when you find out what your IT company is made of.
Internet that is not ready on move-in day. Phones that ring at the old address. A server that should have been retired instead of trucked across town. We plan moves so none of that happens to you.
Sunk cost is real. A backup server you bought last year deserves a plan before it goes in a dumpster because a move made it convenient.
Server or cloud, honestly Gold Star survey"Mike C. was spot on. Needed assistance setting up a software license with a third-party vendor. Mike was on time for the pre-arranged meeting and completed the install with no issues. After the install the vendor commented on how easy it went. Mike knew where everything needed to go and facilitated his end without flaw."

They fail because the IT planning was overlooked. From our relocation handout, the six places it goes sideways, and what each one costs.
Connectivity
Internet not confirmed before move-in. Teams arrive ready and cannot work.
3 to 5 days of downtimeConstruction
Technology not planned before buildout. Changes required after walls close.
$500 to $2,000+ per roomPhone systems
VoIP not coordinated. Business calls fail to connect.
Lost revenue and missed callsServer room
No cooling plan. Systems overheat and become unstable.
Risk of failure and data lossCabling
Not enough network drops per workstation.
Post-move rework at 3 to 5x the costSecurity
Server room left exposed during the transition.
Breach and compliance riskOur 18-point relocation process
Every detail handled before move day, not after. The eight areas it covers:
Every step is focused on one outcome: your business is ready to operate on day one. Ask for a complimentary relocation assessment and we will walk the space with you.
Ninety days out
Order the internet circuit. This is the single most common cause of a bad move-in day, because carriers take six to twelve weeks and nobody thinks to ask until the furniture is booked. We order it the week the lease is signed.
Walk the new space with us. Where the rack goes, how cabling runs, how many drops each room needs, where Wi-Fi access points go so the conference room actually works.
Sixty days out
Decide what moves and what retires. A server that is due for replacement should not be moved twice. A recently purchased backup appliance is a sunk cost worth a conversation before anyone throws it out. We will tell you which is which.
Phones: port the numbers, plan the cutover, make sure the old address stops ringing on the right day and not a day earlier.
Move week
Gear is configured and tested in our shop, then shipped and racked. One person from Midwest IT coordinates the carrier, the electrician, the cabling contractor and the movers, so you are not translating between five vendors. Day one, people sit down and work.
"Nobody notices a good move. People sit down, the phone rings, the printer prints. That is the whole review."

Questions people ask before a move
How far ahead should we involve IT?
Ninety days is comfortable. Sixty is workable. Thirty means overnight shipping and overtime.
The full answerWho orders the internet at the new building?
We do, in your name, the week the lease is signed. We chase the carrier so you do not have to.
The full answerCan our phones keep the same numbers?
Almost always. Porting takes planning; we schedule it so the old office stops ringing on the right day.
The full answerDo you work with our movers and electrician?
Yes. One of us coordinates every vendor touching the network, so you have one number to call.

"Per usual your response time is quick, and the determination of the issue and response had us back up and running in a very reasonable amount of time."
