Office moves
Who orders the internet at the new building?
We do, in your name, the week the lease is signed. Carriers take six to twelve weeks and the order is the most common thing to fall through the cracks.

The order that decides the move date
Every other part of an office move can be done in a weekend. The internet circuit cannot. Carriers quote six to twelve weeks from order to a working connection, and that is when nothing goes wrong. A building that needs construction to bring fibre in can take longer. If the circuit is not ready, the move either waits or happens on a temporary connection.
Why it slips
Because it belongs to nobody. The landlord assumes the tenant will order it, the tenant assumes the IT company will, the IT company was not told the lease was signed. By the time someone asks, the twelve weeks have become four.
What we do
The week the lease is signed, we find out which carriers serve the address, get quotes, and place the order in your name so the account is yours. We chase the carrier through the install, meet the technician on site, and test the circuit before anyone moves a desk. The phone porting is scheduled to the same date.
What you do
Tell us the address and the date the moment they are known, even before the lease is final. Everything else on the move follows from those two facts.
Where we did this
Order the internet circuit the week the lease is signed. Carriers take six to twelve weeks. Nothing else on a move fails as often.

How far ahead should we involve IT in an office move?
Ninety days is comfortable. Sixty is workable. Thirty means overnight shipping and overtime.
The full answerShould the server move with us?
If it has years of life left, yes, carefully. If it is due for replacement, replace it into the new building rather than moving it twice. We will tell you which.
The full answerCan our phones keep the same numbers?
Almost always. Porting takes planning; we schedule it so the old office stops ringing on the right day.
