Do you support Macs?
We are a Windows shop, and most of our clients are too. We will support a Mac for basic issues and tell you honestly when a specialist is a better use of your money.
Answered by Jamie Deeter, Service Director
The honest answer
Midwest IT is a Windows and Microsoft 365 shop. That is where the depth is: Intune, conditional access, Windows Server, the line-of-business software our clients run. Most of our clients are entirely Windows, and the ones with Macs usually have a handful in marketing, design or the owner's office.
What we do for Macs
Set them up on the network, Wi-Fi and printers. Get Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams working. Enrol them in device management so they get the same password, encryption and update rules as everything else, which your insurer will ask about. Back them up. Replace them when they die. Troubleshoot the ordinary things.
When we say so
If a business runs mostly on Macs, or depends on Mac-only software with its own quirks, a Mac specialist will serve it better than we will, and we say that in the first conversation rather than after a year of mediocre support. We have referred people elsewhere for that reason and would rather lose the client than do a poor job.
Mixed offices
A Windows office with a few Macs is a normal client for us. The Macs are managed alongside the rest, the security rules are the same, and the helpdesk handles both. Tell us what you have and we will tell you plainly where the line is.
Order the internet circuit the week the lease is signed. Carriers take six to twelve weeks. Nothing else on a move fails as often.

Do you train our staff, or do we call you for everything?
Both. We train at least one internal administrator on the routine tasks so a new phone on a Saturday is not a ticket, and we give them material to train everyone else. Anything touching security, servers or data stays with us.
The full answerWho actually does the work, and how experienced are they?
The people who answer your tickets are employees here, in Pell Lake. Our level one technicians work to a standard most firms would call level two, and nobody is handed something they have not been set up to handle.
The full answerHow fast do you respond?
Our average response to a new ticket is 20 to 25 minutes, against a two-hour response commitment written into every plan. Every request becomes a ticket with a technician's name on it; emergencies are worked immediately.

"Quick and to the point. Even gave an explanation at the end, which is nice to know."

Tell us what is going on. A partner will call you back the same business day, look at what you have, and tell you honestly whether we are the right fit. No pricing pressure, no pitch deck.
